You will probably get a huge amount of views on this thread, but few written responses, as people in this area will want it to go away quietly.

Lots of dirty laundry in big school districts....and small.

About 30 years ago, a teacher/administrator dated a Round Rock High School senior (a cheerleader IIRC). Whe she graduated they got married, and he got a job as a junior high assistant principal in Austin.

A few years later, the AISD Athletic Director (a former 3-time State championship football coach) was busted for running a prostitution ring using high school girls. Supposedly there were some local bigshots in his clientele book, so he never saw the inside of a cell.

Some of you oldtime Austinites probably know who I'm talkin' about.

Heck, even AISD itself was indicted on felony criminal charges back in the 80s for "manipulating" testing scores.

When my Dad was in a rural Missouri elementary school about 1920, he and a friend of his hid under a wagon out behind the school at recess while the "lady" teacher was having sex with one of the older boys up in the wagon bed. A few months later the teacher's husband killed her and another lover, then shot himself.

Pretty big scandal for a tiny town of 200 people back then. Would probably give Mary Grace a week's worth of program time on HLN today.

It takes all kinds I guess.

So don't be surprised if this "goes away".

Why should it go away quietly? If the teacher is guilty, shouldn't he never teach again?

The state can yank his license.

Why would she be embarrassed about what that guy did? It doesn't reflect on her or the school.

The Anderson High School head football coach was fired yesterday for unspecified personnel reasons....and he just won a district championship and the school's first playoff game ever (a 10-2 season). Nobody's saying why, and they are not obligated to do so.

Agreed.... THis sort of thing (sadly) happens everywhere. Public, private, small, large schools. All that matters is how the administration deals with it.
