Anyone know what's happened to the food here? It used to be awesome, great service & our favorite place for Tex-Mex in RR. A manager was always around & we knew the staff by name - it was great. The last visits have been less than satisfactory with GI issues & a floor so caked with grease it's a HSE hazard.
They opened a new place in Avery Ranch, which we tried but it was loud and not the Morelia's we've loved over the past year(s). Did they move all the good cooks to the new place? The wait staff has turned over too. Any chance Morelia's sold off the Hwy 79 place but kept the name?
I've tried to find out through public records with no success. Their restaurant ratings are abysmal as rated by the health inspectors. Last one published was a 27 - at 30 the restaurant is shut down.
Hoping this is a blip, but fear the worst.

Dang! Hate to hear that. We visited the Avery location a couple of times in the first month it was open. It was OK, but nothing particularly good or bad. I haven't seen any new postings on our message boards; so, I'm guessing the Avery location is still reasonable...no idea about the original--sorry.

We're disappointed big time. It was our favorite. The greasy floors are wrong on so many levels (no pun intended). Last time we stuck with fajitas only & still had "issues." Avery Ranch has terrible acoustics, can't carry on a conversation. Also music is missing from Hwy 79 & we always enjoyed the entertainment.
Hopefully someone knows what is happening. Wish it would go back to the way it was.

Please say it isn't so! I will go there with family to find out if it is a "usual" thing. I love that place, so I hope not.

Wow - hate to hear that, because we LOVE the one on 79. We live close to the new location, but haven't gone since they jacked the price of their margaritas up by $2.50 just because of the new location. Heard the food prices were higher, too. Our new favorite is El Patron on 1431 near Discovery Blvd. in Cedar Park. On par with the original Morelia Grill.

Went there for the first time this weekend in probably 3 months (used to go weekly - moved and now it's just further away). Food was good but I don't think I recognized anyone on the wait staff. Our waiter was not very good at all. Didn't see/know of any issues with the food though and didn't notice anything with the cleanliness. Will be interested to hear updates on it.
