First off, thanks in advance for any guidance; it will be greatly appreciated.

My family of 4 (kids 3 and 5) will be relocating from Houston to Austin shortly. I will be working off Southwest Pky not too far from the 'Y'.

Our price range peaks around mid 3's and the size we are looking for is 4bed, 2500SQ+.

We looked around Circle C, then parts of Lakeway, Steiner etc....

We found Circle C to be much like our masterplanned habitat here in Houston and found the views to mean more to us (atleast in the neighborhood) then we thought it would.

We liked the Hills in Lakeway a lot and Steiner.

Does anyone have any other neighborhoods they would recommend or thoughts in general? Thanks again

Try Lake Pointe in Bee Cave, they have an elementary school right in the neighborhood, and it's considered to be a very good subdivision to live in for families, lots of kids. Good luck!

One more, I don't know much about this neighborhood, but it's within your price range if you negotiate some, and the homes are brand new.

I don't know if anybody in the house works but having a short commute should really inform your decision. Traffic in Austin is some of the worst in the country. Having a great house doesn't mean much if you can't ever be there.

I live in Steiner Ranch, and the commute is nasty. There are homes here from $250,000 to well of $1,000,000+, so it suits a majority of price ranges. Fairly nice homes, it is more heavily wooded and certainly more interesting than suburban developments on the South or due north (near 45-toll) sides of town... Schools are good, neighborhoods are fairly quiet and after the fires ripped through here everyone recovered quick, a sign of resilient and helpful people.

We relocated from Michigan over a year ago and have found Steiner Ranch to be a warm, welcoming community. There is an abundance of young children. Traffic is bad EVERYWHERE in Austin and it takes a while to get used to it. Schools are good, it's quiet and safe.Great fire Department! We love them.
My neighbor is looking for a short term renter (6-8 months). I've heard it's common to lease, decide if it's a good fit then buy. DM me for her number.
