"Texas the last state to get rid of slavery? "

I just looked this up, and also find that Kentucky and Delaware and even Mississippi were in dispute as the last few states to end slavery. Brazil and one other country didn't end slavery until the 1880s.

"but stand rigid on other traditional values."

Because not all traditional values are bad and don't need to be replaced with new, "progressive liberal" values.

"Because not all traditional values are bad and don't need to replaced"

You may feel that way, but others may not...it depends on the person to determine what traditional values are good or bad. Your statement is your opinion and doesn't speak for everyone else.

OMG!! You seriously believe Vidor is abt. 15-25 minutes from Austin? Please, please, please get a map or key in a Texas map on your computer!
"OMG!!!!" (*I'm saying OMG to you as well)....Did I NOT just say that I was incorrect with the distance between Vidor and Austin? I admitted that. Did you not read my statement that you just quoted. Ugh...and that is beside the point anyway....why are you stuck on the distance between Vidor and Austin? Who cares...the whole topic was on Austin's liberal vs. conservative.....get off of the distance between Vidor and Austin....okaaaaaaayyyyy? lol

You mean where you say "except for my correct estimation of the distance between Vidor and Austin"? The word is "incorrect" if you admitted that, and yes, I know you didn't ask. And also, thank you, but I DO realize what the topic is about. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Seems like your the one who needs to take a seat. Reading through your posts, it's pretty easy to see how you continue to be misunderstood...your grammar and word-choice were confusing.

Anyway, it does matter because the original glaring mistake re: the distance between Austin & Vidor pretty much killed your credibility from the get-go.

'Wag more bark less', this is a public forum, not grammar school. As far as "killing my credibility"; I also made other statements that did relate to the OP's original concerns/questions. Also, a public forum is really based on opinions and not credibility. The OP understood where I was coming from, and this was my original goal.

"Seems like your the one who needs to take a seat"
Also, why are you siding with other posters on the forum? It reminds me of middle school (when someone dislikes another just because the rest of the class don't like them either). This "debate" about Vidor & Austin was really between me and 'Love Roses'. If you can't add anything that can be of some value to the OP's original question, then don't type anything at all.
