We just relocated to the Hill Country, Marble Falls area from the West Coast. Looking for ideas on things we should see/do in our spare time. Quick evening jaunts after work as well as weekend activities.

What are some of the must not miss places to eat?

We love thrift stores, any suggestions?

How about good Honda mechanics?

You could go to Sweetberry Farms and also explore around Lake LBJ.

sorry i'm racing out but just wanted to give you a few

- Good nite diner in Wimberley
- Pedernales Falls state park, swimming fun
- the barber shop in Dripping Springs on Mercer - a nice bar that is family-friendly
- Johnson City is a sweet town that has several good places to eat

enjoy - perfect time of year to be in the hill country!

Just some quick ones, some of these are weekend/day trips for you:

Texas Wine Trail
Fredericksburg
Bandera/Lost Pines
Johnson City/LBJ Ranch Museum (esp now with the Wildflowers)
Hamilton Pool
Tubing (New Braunfels mainly)

Most of the "can't miss" restaurants I know about are in Austin, but I think there are some good places in Lakeway also.

Don't know about the Honda mechanic, sorry.

Not far East of Marble Falls on FM-1431 is Pleasant Valley Cemetary. You can see it on Google maps. My wife and I stumbled across it one weekend when we were out for a drive. It is a small old timey cemetery with lots of markers remembering confederate soldiers who are buried there. It was a touching connection with the past for us. Last time we went by there the gate was locked. I'm not sure when they open it.

Drive to Llano, TX and visit http://www.coopersbbqllano.com/ for a real authentic Texas barbecue experience.
