first off, a great town to start your trip. secondly, based on what you're into you actually booked yourself into THE perfect spot. thirdly, if you're a vegetarian you MUST break your diet because meat is a big part of Texas food. think bbq and tex-mex. but if you are a vegetarian, fear not, because austin has a lot of options for veggies.

definitely visit casino el camino's as has been mentioned. visit "bueno's aires argentina" for argentinian food. go to guero's just a few blocks south from where you'll be staying and eat some tex-mex. go to jo's, drink some coffee and say hi to my former co-workers. go to lustre pearl's on rainey street or hotel san jose right next to Jo's. take a trip to the hill country if you have enough time. go to the Hamilton pool as was featured on Terrance Malick's "tree of life."

so much to do in such a little town!

and finally, don't listen to this bigot below. nothing they've said is entirely true. because you find those types of people he/she has described in every state. you even find them here in california. in fact, that person is one of them as is apparent with their misinformation.

Really starting to believe that you've never actually been to Austin and have invented this weird internet persona thing to fulfill something missing from your life. Sad, man, real sad.
