Any annual skiiers out there who fly to to Colorado? I'm trying to plan out a winter ski trip with the famliy.

I'm looking for any Airlines that have direct flights from Austin to any of the major ski resorts in Colorado?

I keep looking online and can't seem to find any direct flights. Surely there has to be an airline that carries one from Austin?

I'm from CO. There aren't any unless you're flying into Aspen -- the only resort area with a commercial airport.

If you're planning on going to one of the dozen ski resorts Vail and east, you will fly into DIA - Denver's airport.

Southwest and Frontier will be your best bets.

Yep, nonstops are only to Denver. Frontier, Southwest, and United. There are lots of companies offering shuttle service from the airport to resorts, if you don't want to rent a car, or you can catch a Greyhound bus from downtown Denver.

Like the 2nd poster alluded to, there are flights to Aspen from Austin. When I was waiting for my bags a couple of weeks ago, I saw that up on the board and was surprised we had a flight there.

There used to be (maybe still are) flights from Denver to Gunnison for people wanting to ski at Crested Butte. No idea if there still are. No flights up to Summit County that i am aware of

Nonstop to Denver and drive. We do it every year. Winter Park's not a bad drive; Breckenridge/Keystone and Vail/Beaver Creek are all 2+ hours but still very reasonable. I've flown to Montrose on a Telluride trip but don't recommend it.

There's also the ski train.
