We have lived here a lot of years and never had an issue before with rodents. We don't want to put out poison so used traps and have already caught five on subsequent nights. The sales clerk at Home Depot said they have never sold so many traps and rat poison. The only thing that has changed at our house is that we had some plumbing done in the hot water closet outside a year ago and the plumber removed the tin foil stuffed around the hole where critters might enter. He used that spray foam instead and they chewed right through it. Anyway, I wonder why so many rodents this year? Maybe we need more feral cats?

There have always been a lot of rodents in the area, but maybe they are being driven inside for some reason? Or maybe a banner birth year due to the (relatively) plentiful rainfall?

They're trying to come in from the cold and make a nice, comfy home for the winter.
