This idea that somehow PEDs level the playing field is a load of crap. It creates exactly the opposite, an unlevel playing field dictated by things that have nothing to do with sport (who has the best doctor, who was able to successfully evade authorities the best, who's body chemistry responds the best to meds, who has best access to bribing officials, who can intimidate and pressure witnesses the hardest). Then there's the hurdle of who's willing to engage in such dangerous and illicit behavior in the first place...clearly there are great riders who decided their career was not worth it if they have to cheat. Clearly Lance didnt have those quibbles and was a master at all those things.

But a level playing field was not what he created, he titled the playing field in his direction and garnered great treasure and fame by doing so.

Lance ain't confessing. He'll get sued for the cases he won and money he got from those cases and he could face criminal charges for lying under oath. Unless of course his ego is so big that he thinks he can skate, which he won't.

Oh, I'll put money on this. He's not going to go on Oprah for an hour and a half and deny all those very well corroborated accusations. He'll look like an ape and if Oprah doesn't go after it she might as well close up shop because that would be the ruin of her.

Oprah is going to ask, he is going to tell. . .they'll go through a rough hour, she'll feel personally betrayed and express some "outrage", he'll be contrite and seem genuinely remorseful. . .then they'll cry. It's going to be the best hour on TV since Heidi pre-empted the Jets/Raiders game.

Well said. I am so sick of reading the drivel: "Armstrong won on an even playing field against others doing the same thing as him."

God what a douche. He kept up his denials for years and years, accusing others of lying and trying to intimidate people into covering for him. Now that it's abundantly clear that was cheating the whole time, now that he's lost everything he's going to "come clean"? I'd have more respect for him if he just kept lying.

I might have a tiny bit of respect for him if he apologizes to his teammates and others that he said vicious things about after they came clean.

I am not holding my breath for that.

Rumors are he's going to make a general statement, something to the effect that yes he did use PEDs throughout his career, but that he is not going to provide specifics (at least on Oprah). If that's all he does then screw him. We already know he used and much much more. The only way he can rehabilitate himself is to then work with and outside the sport to clear it up. If he doesn't follow up with intensive exposé telling the word exactly why he was doing it, what drugs and techniques he used to evade authorities, who has helping him and who else did he assist, where did each evasion take place and how he managed to evade each and every doping control then really he's done nothing.

Full cooperation or I hope the pursue every civil and criminal charge possible at the guy.

What if they simply cant name a winner because the first 20 finishers all have been found to be using PEDs?

To be competitive you had to do it.

Is having your blood pumped out, your blood cells concentrated and then put back in your body a PED?

How about a protein shake?

Link to the first 20 finishers in any TDF being found to have used PEDs?

Is blood doping a drug? No. Is it doping? yes.

Depends on what's in the shake.

Now that the trial is over and he has been stripped of his title years back, he wants to confess? I'm not sure if this is smart or stupid. I know he cannot be tried in court for the same thing, but it makes him look idiotic. I mean if he would have admitted long ago, maybe they would have been a bit lenient with him and not strip 10 years of acheivements and titles from him. Maybe he's out of money and needs to restart his life? I don't know but it should be a bit interesting.
