I am newly transplanted to the Leander/Cedar Park area and would love to find a good butcher shop that has thick sliced as well as country style bacon. Homemade country sausage would be a bonus

Any suggestions?
I've tried Yelp, I get a lot of HEB, I'm looking for the corner butcher shop, you know, one of those best kept secret sort of places.

Thanks

Guess I had to answer this one. Central Market and/or Whole Foods.

Seems the place I was thinking of in Jonestown is closed. I would thing there would be some processors along 183 to the north; but Hudson's Bend might be a good start even though it's not in the area you asked for.

And there's the Meat House here in Avery Ranch:

Never noticed bacon there, however.

I would think the folks on Texas Gun Talk would have some ideas.

And when you go, you can eat some of the best Mexican food in that crowded field at Los Pinos, across the street.

Now, if you want overkill, there is always Salt & Time.

Here's another one in Taylor.
They also do custom slaughtering if you decide to raise that "bacon" from scratch
A neighbor had his pig done there and said they did a very good job.

Its okay, nothing award winning. The BLT I ordered was as little better then average as far as taste and the ingredients go.
It had an abundance of bacon on it though. Maybe that’s their hook?

Are you willing to take a drive? We make 3 or4 trips a year to Green's Sausage House outside of Temple in a little town called Zabcikville.

Green's Sausage House

Best bacon ever and lots of other goodies too.

We bought a vacuum sealer and freeze it in small portions. I can't eat grocery store bacon after having Green's. Prices are reasonable - hence the drive.
