I just moved to Austin TX last year and love it.
I have a LA driver's license.
This spring I decided to go back to school in LA for one year. Afterward, I will resident in Austin TX.
Now I am buying a new car. Since I will resident in TX for sure in 2015.
Can I registered the new car in TX with a out-of-state license????????
I am not planning to get the TX driver's license till 2015.
Would that be a problem? ???

Actually, you do register the vehicle before getting your DL. You'll need proof of insurance and inspection(if it is a NEW new car, it will have a two year sticker already). Not sure I see any benefit in waiting to transfer your DL.

Trying to claim a LA domicile for in-state tuition purposes perhaps?

Ah-hah! Sneaky

Still might create some challenges when the POlice ask why the addresses don't match(since NOT a full-time student).
