I can't seem to find anything online about what's happening at my local Bee Cave Gold's Gym. Last week there was a robbery in the women's locker room, police were there, and it seemed like a big deal. Chatting with other members, I found that quite a few people have had their stuff stolen at this location over the past few years (even a car from the parking lot). I feel unsafe getting ready in an area where I may be targeted, even though I don't even use the lockers and never take an eye off of my belongings. Management is defensive, acts clueless, and actually blamed the victim. I'm pretty livid. Just a warning to others who might consider this place.

What is amazing is how many people leave purses, etc in their cars. Each time I go there, it seems like I can clearly see a GPS or a purse in plain view.
We have been members for over two years and have had zero problems.
You can see warnings to not leave stuff in your car and to always lock your locker and yet, people do not do it. So no wonder management acts this way. BE RESPONSIBLE AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR BELONGINGS.
Not yelling at you, just frustrated about this!

Almost all gyms have problems with theft in the parking lot and locker rooms. It is very common.

You don't think there is a big difference between theft and robbery?

Someone had their locker broken into. The padlock was apparently broken open.

That's a theft, not a robbery. And it's very common in gyms all over Austin and the US. Any place you have people regularly leaving valuables unattended --- even if they're locked in a locker or trunk --- there's going to be a certain kind of person looking for an opportunity.

That's theft. Robbery involves the threat or use of force - it's a far more serious offense.

I am constantly amazed at the people that come in and put all their valuables in their ****ty lockers. Gym locker thefts have happened frequently for years and years, but people never seem to learn any better. You see people come in, and right into the locker goes their wallet, expensive cell phone, keys, watch, jewelry, an expensive pair of shoes, etc. The most you'll ever see in my locker is a ****ty pair of pants or pullover shirt, and that's only if it's chilly out!
