Ive been a few times (lunch and dinner) and there is rarely a line at the drive through. In other cities the drive through line is always tremendously long.

Does anyone have a sense if in-n-out is struggling? I mostly go to the airport location which I dont think was a good choice.

Are you kidding?

I drive past twice a day, five days a week, if they can't survive on that volume, something is wrong with their business model. They seem plenty busy. We limit ourselves to going no more than once a quarter, so we have only been twice so far.

Plus, all In-and-outs are corporate owned, there is no franchising, so they can take their time to show profits. But I'd be very very surprised to find out that location is not turning a profit. Ones in CA (outside of LA) rarely have long lines.

Meh...been once...no need to go back unless they open in Avery Ranch and my car breaks down. My guess is their Austin success/failure will be determined by location.

I've only eaten at In N Out twice since I moved to Southern California two years ago. It's great food, but the line is always crazy! The last time I went was on the way to take my sister back to the airport and we went right as they were opening in the morning. Otherwise I would have said no. There's a double drive through one by me and it is always backed out onto the roadway. I'm sure they will do fine in Texas.

Just another burger joint to me, we have Mighty Fine which is equal to In N Out, if not better.

Also a Smash burger just opened in cedar park, that is OK as well.

I don't get the craze.

I love In-N-Out, I'm from Calif and its a taste of home but I gotta say, I like Whataburger better when it comes to the drive through fast food burger. I also really like 5 Guys. Need to try Smash, where is the Cedar Park location?

I am definitely going through Whataburger withdrawal out here in LA! I was so excited when I spotted one in Phoenix a few months back on a trip. I went in, ordered what I always ordered and it just didn't taste the same. I think maybe the Whataburgers in Arizona have a different supplier. The ketchup was as good as ever, but the meat and cheese and everything else was just way off. It wasn't horrible, it just didn't taste like Whataburger. I Didn't even go again the next morning to try their biscuits and gravy. That is something I can't bear to have tarnished. I'd trade all the In N Outs for one whataburger transported right out of Corpus Christi, crew and all.

In n Out seems to be the only fast food place where I've seen people have to compare it to fast food and casual sit places like smash burger and mighty fine. Prices at those two places are a great deal higher than a fast food drive thru. When compared to other fast food joints it kills them.

Every time I drive past, the drive through line is crazy long. Don't know when you're there, but it looks pretty darn busy to me.

Perhaps referring to the Lakeline Market location(new Alamo, HEB, Stein Mart)...actually in the Austin city limits, but you can see Cedar Park across the street.

In-N-Out is opening near the Cedar Park Costco...1431/183A
No shortage of burgers in that area...Freddie's, Carl's Jr, Moonie's, Short Stop, McD's, Mighty Fine, J&J, WhatABurger and many more with a mile or so.
