I read that just being near bats puts you at risk for rabies. According to a rabies site I read it said that just having a bat breathe on you could transmit the virus. How is this dealt with in Austin? Are there a lot of people visiting the Dr. to get Rabies shots in Austin?

LC, don't know where you got that info, but the last time I checked, the rabies virus was still only transmitted by blood contact. If a bat's breath could do the trick, other bats would, I suppose, be in a world of hurt.
