Hello all! I am not from the area but I am trying to get a bachelor party planned in Austin (or San Antonio). We will be planning on possibly going to the Iron Bear that evening for Karaoke. I was wondering what else we could do near that area that would be worthwhile? Also, what are some outdoor-type activities that we could possibly get into during the day?(most of us are adventurous) We will be in town leading up to 4th of July and 4th of July weekend. Thanks for your help!

You could try renting paddleboards on Lady Bird

I've seen groomsmen groups and pre-party bachelor party groups at Shady Oaks Gun Range. Especially fun for those visiting from less gun-friendly states. Won't hurt to be in an air-conditioned range in July!!!

Why would you go to the iron bear for a batch party?

So, if I was planning this:

AirBnB a house big enough around south congress.

Day 1, when all the guys are arriving.
Thu/Fri night, we're hitting the dirty. Groom is carrying a 10 lb bowling ball chained to his leg. We're taking that to perfect 10 or yellow rose at about 1... Via uber of course.

Day 2. Roust Em up early. If it's Saturday, we're hitting the river. Get down to NB and don't bring beer. Camlebak's of deep eddy oughta do it.

Night 2. Rainey or back to the dirty or west. Mood dependent.

Day 3. Hangover breakfast, then Hula Hut to see if you can get anything going again. If you haven't found at least four excuses to delay outbound flights at this point, you have failed.

Different strokes for different folks?

OP - at a minimum, the lake is really hard to beat and worthwhile to include.

Ugh...at least it isn't my range(s), which are already practically unusable on the weekends due to bachelor parties. If you do go this route better make it the first day before everyone is hungover.

My brother did this with a big group of guys who came in for a bachelor party at the end of the summer last year. They had a blast - great reviews on Yelp, too. You really can't go wrong going out on the lake, though you may enjoy Lake Austin instead of Lake Travis.
