Leander versus Circle C

I know those are polar opposites, but for a family friendly community with good schools, tell me your thoughts on which one you prefer?

For a job downtown, I'd pick Circle C.

Leander is a city of over 30,000 folks and 7.5 sq miles vs Circle C, a subdivision. You could live in areas of Leander where downtown Austin could be reached in under 24 miles of 'expressway'...OR...you could live where it might take 18 minutes just to GET to an expressway

I get the main thrust of your question; but the location WITHIN Leander could make a great deal of difference in the answer.

This is a no-brainer. Circle C, because it's 1/3 the distance to downtown.

The price difference is going to be huge. You can buy into Leander for 150K, and Circle C would be about 350K.

What's your husband think? Are you renting or buying?

I'd want to live in the areas of Leander closest to cedarPark or highways, any suggestions for communities?

The reasoning behind Leander is that we have friends there and colleagues. He can carpool or take the train in. Also great schools and I may be able to get a job in LISD.

Well, it's the 'end' of the line, so getting a seat in the mornings would be easy(for now!). Return trips aren't as frequent, IIRC. Might be best to get hold of an actual schedule.
Riding MetroRail - Capital Metro - Austin Public Transit

While the Lakeline Station is surrounded by residential and commercial development, the Leander station is somewhat at the northern end of things...that can be good or bad, depending.

Major point, the school districts are NOT confined to the namesake city...PLENTY of LeanderISD covers Austin and Cedar Park neighborhoods. Check carefully for school assignments.
