Can anyone tell me which are the more conservative towns? We are coming to visit at the end of the month and I am trying to plan everything. Thanks for your help.

Austin is probably the most liberal town in Texas on many fronts. Can you be more specific on what you are looking for on the conservative side?

Not all liberal, try SW Austin, it's pretty conservative down there. The northern suburbs, RR, Cedar Park, etc are probably pretty conservative as well. Texas is always a red state.

I want to clarify the northern suburbs (as mentioned above) VOTE republican, pretty much across the board... however, I know of many conservatives and liberals in this area, sharing fences and managing to make it work as neighbors.

Being that I am NOT conservative and living in RR, I don't really know what people mean when they say "RR is conservative" or Williamson country even. Yes, the voting tends to be predominately be republican in the majority ... but outside of voting, in our daily life... I don't see how one area is more "conservative" than the other.

Perhaps no one has tried it yet! That doesn't mean that people wouldn't

I would not show up at a festival in saran wrap... but I am also not conservative. Frankly, I wouldn't label those that do "not conservative" - I think I might just label them crazy. I also think there is a wide range in between conservative, and crazy

SW Austin isn't THAT conservative. I ride my bike in just my thong through Circle C, Meridian, etc. every weekend. Usually I just get some whistles and friendly waves.

achtungpv: do they make those with extra padding like bike shorts? lol

This brings to mind something that happened a year or two back at a local store (like a coffee shop or donut shop or something) in RR and it made a lot of people go crazy. I can't remember what it was though...anyone know what I'm thinking of? I just remember when the news was reporting it, I thought, wow, if that was in 78704, nobody would of though anything weird of it.
I'm not taking either side on this one, just trying to remember the story...

I think you are talking about the drag show that the now-defunct Saradora's Coffeehouse held a couple of years ago. Nyle Maxwell was quite perturbed about it. :-)

Would have barely warranted a second look in many parts of Austin.
