What do you all in the know think about the following neighborhoods:
Zilker Park, Bouldin, Travis Heights, SoCo.
I am definitely pretty priced out of Tarrytown and would love to be in a neighborhood with an interesting mix of ages, types, etc... in which I could walk to places with or without my dogs.
My realtor has also suggested NW Hills, which did not seem far from downtown, but I don't think there is any walking to shops. The prices in NW Hills are better than Central Austin proper, however.

My partner and I are moving in the Spring as we just sold our respective houses. He is probably going to live in Tarrytown or Hyde Park.
I am late 40's and work from home. Thanks!! Faith

Those are all cool hoods if you can afford them. I think you can walk to places from all those neighborhoods, NW Hills not so much... at least that's the impression I got from my few visits. I like the walkability factor but I don't think we can afford it.
