So what? Why would you claim that it's 120 today when it's clearly not. Next week, sure. Why the hyperbole? Regardless, I'd rather have the lack of humidity, despite the extreme temperature.

I meant the second definition of "today":

1. this present day.
"today is a day of rest"
2. the present period of time.
"the powerful computers of today"

I'm so glad I wrote the check two weeks ago, and had a new AC system and furnace installed in my home, with 10 year warranty.

Sleeping cool.

I like this time of year. It's when Yankees learn that a mild winter comes with a price.

Yeah, like all the ones who come on here because they want to move here and gleefully brag "I LOVE the heat!"

Ha! this yankee learned her lesson and made sure she purchased a home with a pool! No pool was a dealbreaker for us. It's hot as hell. can't wait to get into the water again today.

I'll take heat over cold any day. Us yankees have plenty of relatives to visit up north in late summer though. The best of both worlds right there.

From what I've heard, it's not the heat itself that bothers yankees, but the fact that Halloween tends to be the tail end of summer. I like it, that means skimpy costumes rule.
