The fact that this protest turned ugly does not surprise me one bit. Especially considering at that particular part of town is not a good area.

It's utterly flabbergasting to watch people break the law in the act of protesting on behalf of people who break the law.

Idiots.

Fear mongering works well with crowds like that.

Mind you over at Rundberg and I35 we have not heard a peep out of protesters.

Actually it used to be a lot worse, I would say it is improving, Just very slowly. There have been a few city programs enacted over the last few years that have helped a bit and the property value has increased dramatically in the area.

I did a double take when I read that...Ironic description.

My always politically incorrect 80 y/o Dad (who passed away 10 years ago) when visiting us back in the 90s/00s, would ask for me to take him to the Heeb. (often in front of people). Ms. Hound would go into shussing and correcting mode with him....and I would just smile and shake my head.

(at the time there were no HEBs in greater Houston....just Krogers and Randalls).

But I do know which location that you're talking about. When I was single and in my 30s there was as much action (& prettier women) going on at that HEB... as there was at any happy hour beer bars.

QUIET YOU!!! I mean it!! dont tell anybody where it is, nobody. Is is the only HEB in town that is not absolutely packed with people every hour of the day AND they have the best deli in town. Keep the newbies from finding it for as long as possible, or we will never find parking again. This town has gotten so, sooo damn crowded The rest of you, keep shopping at your local HEB and Torchys has the best taco's, yes keep going to Torchy's. Dont go to any other taco places.
