Planning to move to the Austin area this year, targeting the Cedar Park area because of it's close proximity to the office.

Can anyone provide feedback on Naumann Elementary, Cypress Elementary or Deer Creek Elementary, or any comparison of the three schools?

We are looking for a school that is good academically but also has socioeconomic diversity, to the extent possible. So far I have been looking at GreatSchools, Niche and EdResults. Noticed a couple of things:

-Cypress Elementary seems to have lower ratings/slightly underperforms compared to the other schools. Any particular reason for this and is it actually true?
-Deer Creek Elementary has a very low percentage of students who qualify for free/reduced lunch, which leads me to believe it lacks in economic diversity and is mostly comprised of kids from wealthy families. Is that accurate?

Both of our kids are young and will be starting elementary school in Austin, so will likely be at any given school for all their elementary school years.

Deer Creek is a good school, the teachers and staff really strive to actually get to know the students and make sure they develop into productive individuals. And while there is a large percentage of kids who are for sure in the UPPER middle class, there is a diverse background from neighborhoods that feed into it.

As for wealthy...you can take a look at the real estate around & kind of picture from there.

That is helpful, thank you! I also noticed there is another school, Westside, which we would consider as well. If you have any info on that one or others, let me know.

I do not have any direct knowledge of Westside.

I have no personal experience with the schools you asked about but they are all close by. My kids both went to Westside and now have one at cox. Cox is more diverse and we really like it. Most of the schools in Lisd are great. Reed is more diverse but not ranked as high, however, I have heard great things about it from friends that go there. Reed even has a dual language program. Overall I think Lisd is a great district and you would be happy with many schools. Are you looking to buy a house? If so I would focus more on that as I don't think any elementary school is the "best"
