I for one am going to miss their burgers and fries (and not miss their ridiculously small guys bathroom). I'll have to make sure I stop by a time or two before they close.

Hut's has been my all-time favorite hamburger joint anywhere, for a long time. I liked their checker-board floor. It looked just like my grandmother's kitchen floor. Hut's was the first hamburger joint that I was ever in that had so many topping choices. Most burger places I remember didn't get much more daring with topping choices than cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomatato, catsup, mustard, and mayonaise. I don't remember ever even thinking about putting avocado/ guacamole, mushrooms, bacon, cole slaw, until I went to Hut's.

I hate to hear they are closing. At least they are keeping the airport location open for business, leaving hope that Hut's will open a new restaraunt in or near 78745 in South Austin in the not too distant future. The taxes will be alot cheaper than downtown.

Loved that Wednesday special. We would go all the time before everyone moved here.

The family doesn't own the airport location. Their concept is licensed out to a food service type company.

They also don't own the original restaurant location. They lease it.

When the other Hut's closed I said it was an institution closing and they bashed me for it.

In reality the burgers would be considered great in a small town but in a big city there are better burgers to be had. As much as I hate to go for snobby food, hopdoddy is pretty darn good.

So are several other chains.... 5 Guys, Smashburger, Mooyah’s, to name a few. Can be kinda pricey though.

Yea, I never heard of a second Hut’s (except for the pseudo airport location).
