I'm very glad I don't have to make a run to the airport. AA canceled my sister's direct flight from Orlando to Austin and put her on another flight from Orlando-Miami-Austin getting in here at rush hour (makes no sense does it). She was able to convince them to just cancel her flight and refund her points. In any case, the 45-130 toll roads would have been a risk and 183 wouldn't have been much better. Glad to stay off the roadways completely today. People do not know how to drive on ice and yet they still try and become a menace to themselves and everyone else on the road.

All underground power here and 8 hours of backup battery.

My heat is having to run on aux sometimes to keep the temps at 70 ... seems a bit overkill ... 30* is cold but its not that cold...

Well, backing up to a fire station and being within walking distance of a hospital didn’t save my apartment from trees falling and knocking out our power. Will probably have to leave work early and head home to get the animals and get them warm.

Underground lines here in Brushy Creek, but power went out at 7:30am anyway.
Lots of big branches down all over the area up here.
Down to 63 in the house but have the gas fireplace going.
Wife has her long johns on. Lol
Son lives on the other side of the neighborhood and has not lost power.

Had no power and suffered major tree damage. I'm pretty heartbroken about the tree. Massive mature live oak just snapped like a toothpick. I'll be dead before a newly planted one will grow to its size.

We’ve been without power since 4:30 AM and no estimate on restoration. Lots and lots of huge oak limbs down in our yard and all the neighbors. Sure glad my sister canceled her trip!

I was out riding around in South Austin earlier this afternoon, and with all the ice on the trees, it made for some beautiful wintertime scenery, but it also had a very apocalyptic, haunting and sad look to it, too.

Is this going to be over by April? LOL. I'm coming to visit a friend who lives in New Braunfels - flying into Austin.
