Well, SH 45 SW is opening this weekend, even though the underpass under La Crosse isn't finished on MoPac yet.

So if you are thinking of taking SH 45 SW to MoPac north on Monday 5/20 morning, think again. It will be backed up there.

Who was the wise guy that thought to finish SH 45 SW before La Crosse? Is TX DOT sadistic or something?

There's a festival May 18 1-3 pm for anyone that wants to be able to walk on the tollway prior to opening and is willing to brave the thunderstorm risk....

Well, the question is - will a bottle-necked 45-SW be any worse or better than Brodie currently is?

Pick your poison. Hopefully some of y'all will comment back on the traffic situation next week.

It's probably the folks who have a financial/performance motive to be able to "officially" declare it open to traffic by a certain date.

Well, TxDot won a legal suite by claiming that 45 SW / underpasses/ mopac toll were all separate and unrelated projects (and therefore could follow different environmental clearances).

So delaying one because of the other might actually be a problem legally.

Ah, the real reason then.

Don't expect any significant relief until La Crosse is finished. Then it will be smooth sailing...

Yeah I see they postponed the opening ceremony because of rain. I don't see a rescheduled date.

So, SH 45 SW opened on June 1. Did anyone take it this morning? How was it?
