Hi,

Does anyone have direct feedback/experience with Glenn High School? I was wondering why it is rated so low compared to the other high schools in LISD. It was touted as a new model for high schools when it opened, but any idea why things appear to have gone wrong?

Thanks!

Rated how? On Great Schools? Through TEA? Could be there’s not enough data or parents havent posted on great Schools.

I don’t have any first hand experience.

TEA ratings. If you search for Leander ISD using the link below, you can see that all high schools in Leander are rated A except for Glenn which is rated C.
https://rptsvr1.tea.texas.gov/perfre.../distlist.html
Make sure you have "district name" checked instead of "district number", then search for "Leander"

In GreatSchools, all LISD high schools have 6/7 rating except for Glenn which has a 3.

It opened in 2016. The data set is very small. Also note that TEA changed their rating system within the last few years which really messed with confidence and ratings.

And, as far as Great Schools, that's all subjective and based on personal reviews. As a parent you need to decide what is best for your kid. a 10 school may be too stressful for your student. A 5 school might be great because it has tech training and smaller class sizes. Don't rely on the internet to make these big decisions.
