I can't believe that temps are approaching the triple digits later this week, it sure is quite a contrast to last year's Fall when it cooled off right when the Fall season began.

From my experience, it doesn’t really start to cool down until late October / Early November. It also doesn’t really get ‘cold’ here until late December into January.

It probably is alittle warmer than normal for mid-late September but what usually cools things down are rainy days and we haven’t had a lot of those lately.

It’ll be fall from November 3rd-4th. Winter will be here February 14th and 15th. The other days it will be summer.

I do remember hearing David yeomans say our first cold front usually comes mid October.

I don't think last year is very typical anymore, at least since 2015 when I moved here. Upper 90s in late-September is all too common in recent years. Cool fronts can come in during October but it's mid-November for chilly weather to start.

Usually mid-October the weather will get cooler with some pleasant fallish days mixed in with the warm ones, but Halloween can be chilly or really warm!

Memory is so odd, sometimes. I seem to recall it being cooler in September last year, but the history says it was 99 F on Sept 20, 2021, although it dropped to 94 and 85 the following two days.

Here is the average high (and low) along with a 25/75 percentile and 10/90 percentile shading:

I moved here from Washington State early last year and was surprised how mild last year's summer was, I was surprisingly enjoying the summer weather we've had last year.

That chart is great information, may I ask where you found it?

From what I remember, last summer was very atypical. Cooler and wetter than a normal Austin summer. But I don't recall that the fall weather was anything out of the ordinary. I would say in general it doesn't cool off much until October or even November.

This is the one I have generally used, it can really drill down to a lot of data:

Yeah, last summer was a relatively mild Austin summer. What we had this year was closer to normal, but on the extreme side of things still.
