Hello Everyone....well, We've Finally Decided On Austin Vs Dallas Or Denver....we're Happy About The Decision We've Made After Much Research. (moving From Hawaii). My Question Is; Where To Live? (we Will Rent For The First Couple Of Years Either A Home Or Apt.)... My Husband Works In The Automobile Business And We Would Like To Be "just Outside Town"..not To Far Out In The Suburbs...but Close Enough To The Action That We Don't Have To Drive Forever To Get To The Fun.....can Someone Give Me Some Ideas On Nice Areas That Would Be Fairly Close To "automobile Row"....any Info Would Be Great...thanx!!

Based on your requirements, you should live in Buda, just south of Austin. Or South Austin in the 78745, or 78748 zipcodes.

Your husband will be a few short minutes from auto-row on IH35 and you'll find good cheap rental homes in Buda (or further down in Kyle), some even brand new. In South Austin there are plenty of rental also.

These are nice areas, very close in to downdown, but not so close as to be paying for "location".

"Nice" is subjective. Come and visit and form your own opinion.

The Arboretum is nowhere near where you say you want to be, if you're talking about the South IH35 auto-row. It would be a 35-55 minute drive each way during rush hour.
