Can anyone tell me if there is a casual type setting, in Dripping Springs area. We got here and it is way laid back, no dress up, great Christian Alternative music, it is a regular bible church, with an awesom Sunday School program. They offer Saturday night services as well..although we go to the Sunday service (when we are home) because i like their Sunday school programs better, they are more individualized, per grade.

I am a new Christian, so i would like a service that tells how to use and incorporate the bible and beliefs into my everyday life... Not too preachy or pushy..

Thanks

Hi CravenClan,

I don't know about the churches in Dripping Springs, but Gateway fits your description exactly and they have a campus in south Austin. Gateway Church | Austin TX

Good to "see" you here again

Are they so hip that they fire up J's in the parking lot? Like Rastafarians?

Texastea, Thank you, yes i am back, now in a better frame of mind. I appreciate your response. And am headed out abagin at the end of the month... It is hard enough being a new Christian, not fully knowledgeable, let alone walking into a new church!! We went the first time on Easter with a friend of mine, so it was less scary, but a new area, a new place, let alone a new state!! YIKES!!!

And to the other post, not my type of thing, nor anyone i would associate with, i am not going to post any further than that on your comment.

Just checked out Gateway, lokks GREAT!!!!!!!!Thanks Texastea!!

I'm finding that a lot of churches around Austin are apparantly that way. Laid back as far as how people dress, style of music....

I don't know of any in DS but I can tell you about a few near there. We liked First Evangelical Free in Southwest Austin at roughly Mopac and just north of Wm Cannon. It's actually a long-time Austin church but they relocated from campus down to SW Austin about 7 years ago of so. It's a terrific church and Rob Harrell is just about one of the most gifted speakers and humble ministers I have ever met. You can check out his sermons online. Great programs for singles and families, and new Christians alike. I would also recommend Lake Hills Church in Lakeway and Austin Stone Church which is centrally located. Gateway and Grace Covenant would be others you should consider. Nice thing about Austin is that there are a lot of good churches to choose from.
