I love the Oxford II model. I looked at that model in Circle C about a year and a half ago but there weren't any decent lots left.

I have nothing bad to say about the Highpointe area. I love my neighbors, we have a great view, we are close enough to downtown with out being on top of downtown and although we've had problems with Pulte when we were building our home, they have fixed everything and I've been super happy with our home.

I was looking at the floorplans for all the models in the new Wilshire section and I LOVED the Oxford II. That would be my ideal floor plan - regardless of how much money I had to spend. I am in southern California and we plan to stay put for the next 4 years. But I am hoping that maybe someday we can make our way to Austin. I have visited there several times and loved it a little more each trip.

I hope you post here about your experience with Wilshire in Highpointe as your home is being built.
I sure will. I can tell you that the woman I am dealing with there is AWESOME so far. She is Johnny on the spot when you ask for something, or a question. Her name is Audra.
We had originally purchased a Pulte Sheffield. I LOVED the thing, it really is beautiful. But at 3300 sq ft, it is just too big for 3 of us. In our hearts we really wanted a single story. The Oxford II is that except for the game room. My Dad is 74 and lives with us and I was a little concerned about his bedroom being upstairs. He loved the idea of having a whole floor to himself. LOL. I think the Oxford answers all of our needs.

That is so good to hear. I haven't actually walked a Oxford II yet. We needed to move fast though, as we LOVED the lot we got.
What Pulte model did you end up with?

We have the Carrington III. It too is a little larger than we originally wanted(it's just the two of us), but I think it will be good for resale down the line.

I really like the floor plan of this house, it's big and open without being a house with too many empty rooms that I have to fill with furniture just so they aren't empty.

I really like the coziness of the Oxford. I found one for sale in Round Rock with a virtual tour. They did some great modifications to it that I am going to steal. They took out a window and put the fireplace on the diagonal. We are also going to put the covered patio off of the breakfast nook with double french doors at the end...

The Carrington is a great house. Your resale will be awesome. Viva La Highpointe....

We're considering Highpointe as well. We're thinking of building an Aspen IV, but we haven't made any definite commitments.

Our house here in Seattle just went STI. (YEAH!!!!) Hubby's going to Tejas next week to look for a rental. We'll talk to the builders a bit more and take our time making a decision. It's gonna be a LONG year. All this with 2 year old twins.

Sort of an out of place reply here, but we (my fiancee and I) are doing exactly what Austin-Steve was talking about. Selling our Townhome in VA (D.C. metro area) to buy in Austin. Partly because we own a condo also and neither of us want to be landlords in general, especially of two properties (a condo and townhome). The cost to hold onto the townhouse is to great, and to wait and get what we think we should get would only cost us money in the long run.
On a second note...I was wondering if anyone can make the comparison between the two markets for me (D.C. metro vs. Austin area). My greatest fear would be for Austin to grow to fast for it's population which through the market it into a recession and caught a bunch of people in a tight spot. We are buying based on our wants and plan on living there for some time, but never say never...and it would be a thorn in my side if what happened in D.C. ever happened in Austin...Especially since I love Austin so much.
