Yes I do know that (southeast) Queensland has tropical/humid weather and that (southwest) WA has mediterranean/dry weather, but how does it differ 'in practice'?
I mean does it affect number of insects, sea temp., Winter weather, Lifestyle etc. ?
Both are warm and "good" climate types but how does them differ?
I know most people prefer California weather over Florida, is it the same in Australia (WA over QLD)?
Both are extremely large, vast states.
In Northern Australia they would be similar, although WA is drier.
In the south of WA there is a cool and wet winter and early spring, which is significantly cooler than winter in SE Qld.
Perth has virtually no rain in summer and stays hot, SE Qld is hot and humid in summer.
Comparing California and Florida may be a reasonable comparison, if not exactly the same.
As far as bugs go, that would depend on the local region, available water sources and whether the local council sprays etc.
Lower South WA has a far more milder climate than anywhere in QLD. The Albany region is not termed The Rainbow Coast without region. This would be an ideal climate for those seeking a cool/mild climate far removed from the excessive summer heat of Perth, let alone a lot of QLD.
Its possibly fair to say that more people move to Perth than Brisbane for the climate, although many other factors influence migration of course.
I would assume been wetter, and having the dividing range running right up the coast, that fresh water activities, mountain climbing/Hiking, and other activities associated with forests and lakes etc would be far more common in QLD.
Do know about bugs, to me the most surprising thing about mosquitos is Brisbane is how few of them there are.
