Thank you. I stand corrected on that point. It's frustrating that different US government websites on the matter state different things, especially when the DHS website cites to the CDC website.
As I understand things, though, was a temporary restriction put into place as the result of increased COVID cases during the Omicron surge. It is scheduled to expire (unless extended) later this month. We'll see what happens, but it would not shock me if the restriction is relaxed as the expanded restrictions were put into place due to a set of conditions that are no longer present.
True, but 00)that would only be because of NYC's specific vaccine mandate as Djokovic would be able to enter into the US without being vaccinated (I already mentioned how in my previous post). Given that NYC has since lifted its vaccinate mandate for professional athletes, if any of the majors were held today, Djokovic could conceivably play in at least two of them (US and Wimbledon). And possibly even in the French Open based on some of the workarounds I'm reading, though I'm less clear on that.
Then why did he pull out of Indian wells and Miami?
NSW, Victoria and South Australia are all removing the quarantine requirement for unvaccinated international arrivals. I'd assume the federal government will remove the restrictions on them once the election is over. As has tended to happen once NSW and Victoria change a rule the federal government follows a month or so later.

QLD has done that as well, the laws changed yesterday I think.
Turns out, Australia was/is the ONLY country that did not allow Djokovic to play in a major.
I haven’t followed tennis rigorously this year, so how much of that is related to the fact that most of the big tournaments are happening at a time when restrictions have been eased in many parts of the world?

When did the US change its laws? Or are you assuming they will change their laws by the end of August?
Both the DHS and CDC websites were still saying you need to be vaccinated, at the end of april/beginning of may, and Djokovic has still not entered the US?

As expected, there is no longer a requirement to be vaccinated to enter Australia.
Quote:
Foreign travellers arriving in Australia will no longer need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 from Wednesday morning.
Currently, anyone arriving in Australia needs to declare their vaccination status before arriving.
While Australian citizens can arrive unvaccinated, most foreign travellers need to seek an exemption on limited grounds.
From 12:01am on Wednesday morning, those requirements will be scrapped altogether — opening the international border in full to unvaccinated travellers.
Novak Djokovic’s hopes of playing in the US Open suffered another blow after the tournament said it would respect the United States government’s rules on the Covid-19 vaccine.
The US requires non-citizens to be fully vaccinated against coronavirus to enter the country, meaning Djokovic, who has made it repeatedly clear that he will not take the vaccine, will not be allowed entry.
