The huge majority of it comes either directly or indirectly from South or central America.

Indeed it does, Australia imports a good amount or raw Coffee from Vietnam, PNG and Ethiopia, just not quite in the quantities it does from Brazil and Columbia

I have noticed that Indonesia or Malaysia is about the only Muslim country that has girls/women on Facebook. It seems exceedingly rare to encounter women's facebook profiles from any other Muslim country.

Entire Middle East Muslim Arabsphere isn't ever any more Straighter than Europe, Asia, Central to South Americas, Oceania, or USA. Just an equal amount. Nevertheless, kind of surprised with some of those Updates.

Better avoid causing any friction or tension between equally Westernized countries such as Australia with Indonesia around Sociological issues of that nature.

Anyways, there is a Luxury Hotel I stayed at in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia that had the Muslim Quran giant book on a Table in absolutely every room. Just correctly respect the book when visiting! Thought guests had to be Muslim to stay there.. lol Did have fun with the Middle East Smoke Lounge next to the Swimming Pool. And how exotic to see 100% of all Ladies/Girls wearing the traditional head dress with usually a Chinese Sinosphere look. Malaysia is literally an Indonesia! Because with concepts of Developed, 3X extra economic wealth in terms of salaries, plus foreign outlook, M is even further well regarded than the 17,000+ Islands archipelago just across the Malacca Strait. Kuala Lumpur M to relatively radical Sumatra island is only 80km/50 miles from each other!

Yeah. However, tough to say how secular Malaysia really is deep down when almost all Muslims females always wear something very traditional. Further than Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan!
Well what is similar to Australia and Indonesia is it is easy to hook up and tinder is popular in Indonesia. When I was in Indonesia I even noticed some women in it wearing hijabs.

Because of this Islamists are outraged at this and could get their way of making it illegal for anyone to have sex outside marriage soon in Indonesia. BTW Indonesia does not reconginse same sex marriage, so it would mean even homosexual relations would be illegal. Plus they plan to ban abortion as well.

Yet it could all change soon as there are new laws that can come very soon to make it illegal for people to have sex outside marriage.

Indonesia set to criminalise sex before marriage – even for tourists
Draft code also carries stiff penalties for abortion, ‘black magic’ and insulting the president
Indonesia is set to pass a draconian new criminal code outlawing sex outside of marriage, even among tourists, with a punishment of up to a year in prison.

The draft code, which also carries stiff penalties for abortion, “black magic”, insulting the president and cohabitation before marriage, is expected to be passed by the Indonesian parliament in December.

Rights groups have long warned that the new law, which has been decades in the making, would violate the rights of women, minorities and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, as well as undermining freedom of speech.

‘In line with Indonesian values’
However, Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, Indonesia’s deputy justice minister, said the code is expected to be passed on Dec 15, telling Reuters: “We’re proud to have a criminal code that’s in line with Indonesian values.”

Bambang Wuryanto, a politician involved in its drafting, added that it could be endorsed next week.

If passed, the new rules would apply to both Indonesian citizens and foreigners, with business groups warning about the potential impact on the tourism industry, which is slowly trying to recover after being battered by the pandemic.

A previous attempt to introduce the code in 2019 was shelved after nationwide protests and warnings from the Australian government to its citizens that they could be charged for offences.

Bali, in particular, has traditionally been a top holiday destination, attracting millions of tourists every year.

‘More harm than good’
Shinta Widjaja Sukamdani, deputy chairperson of Indonesia’s employers’ association, said the morality clauses would “do more harm than good,” especially for businesses engaged in tourism and hospitality.

“For the business sector, the implementation of this customary law shall create legal uncertainty and make investors re-consider investing in Indonesia,” she said.

With this law it means the Australian prime minister would not be allowed to share a bedroom with his partner when he visits Indonesia.

Albo and Jodie’s relationship is fairly new, from early 2020, and I am not sure if they live together fully. Julia Gillard had the same issue when she was PM and her partner kept a fairly low key profile. I imagine if Albo is going somewhere where it would be a major problem, she may choose to stay home. She has her own career and is still working so she would not be likely to accompany him on all his trips.

Not possible for them, but in Dubai at least, discretion is the key. We know a couple who lived together there for years before they married and also friends of friends who are gay and have lived there for a decade.

Doubt Indonesian authorities would ever put a current Australian prime minister: Anthony Albanese/wife Jodie Haydon into jail. Better not be the ones that made the Australia Pandemic Virus rules back in 2020, 2021. Or otherwise, wouldn't ever list their names. lol What a way to ruin Australia-Indonesia relations. Although, governing representatives usually follow those types of rules very well.

Let the Indonesian ladies wear their traditional clothing when visiting Australia. And can Indonesians only afford the AUS Hostels? That is a potential issue even in Singapore.
However the new law states: An important sub-section of the draft law states that criminal charges for adultery can only be pursued and prosecuted if a family member makes a police complaint (e.g., husband, wife, parent, or child of the accused).https://balidiscovery.com/ri-adulter...-with-tourism/

BTW I think there are Indonesian religious Muslim men who are very unhappy seeing women in hijabs on "tinder" in Indonesia, and it one of the aims to bring about the law.

I doubt it would be policed in places such as Bali. Even top officials such as politicians from overseas, or business people, and any foreign men if they bring their unmarried spouse with them to share a room won't have to worry about it. Yet the law will apply if they sleep with a local Indonesian woman and a relative of the woman complains. Even so, those that are cohabitating in Indonesia are discrete about it. It a big no to openly discuss being in cohabitation relationship Indonesia. Plus being intimate with someone not your spouse in public outside the main tourist areas of Bali, is really fronded upon.

Plus, it is illegal being atheist in Indonesia. You never openly discuss being atheist in Indonesia. All Indonesians need to be classified according to their religion which has to be either: Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism. Those that are not religious, would usually classify themselves their religion on they are raised in.

YEt there are parts of Indonesia that are very conservative, such as Aceh, where Islamic law dominates there and cohabitation is illegal, same with homosexuality. IN addition gambling and alcohol and public displays are banned by law there. Those that commit sex outside marriage, homosexuality or gambling risk a public caning there of 15 to 30 lashes.

Well at least Indonesia is not a Theocracy, like Saudi Arabia.
Other religions are accepted, unlike some Fundamentalist Islamic states like the Saudis. (but then again parts of the “Bible Belt” in the US, are not exactly accepting or tolerant of other religions)
I was not aware it was illegal, or at least morally and ethically wrong, to be an Atheist in Indonesia.
But yeah, just like in the UAE or the Maldives etc, they are not going to enforce their conservative Islamic views on westerners and tourists.
