The fastest car I've been in is a friend's '72 Plymouth Duster 340 (with a built 360-V-8). It is a 12-second car (1/4 mile).

I haven't driven all that fast. The fastest was about 95 mph in several of my cars or former cars ('69 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, '76 Cadillac Limo, '66 Dodge Dart GT).

We have a 2006 Z06 Corvette. It's a rocket! The only problem is that it is so fast you have to be somewhere out in the middle of BFE to enjoy flying through the gears because it's already at 70 - 80mph in 2nd gear!! Had it up to 160mph and it handled beautifully!!

Maserati Bora, Ghibli
Ferrari's ... 212's, 250's
Lamborghini Espada
MB 300SEL6.3's

all driven in mid 100's range for a short distance across WY, UT, CO, NV; all very competent hi speed cruisers. best of the bunch were the 6.3's for eating up the miles.

the scariest cars at speed were a 1961 MGA Coupe, Triumph Spitfire, Morgan +8, and an early 3.8 XKE ... all in the 80-90-100 mph range where they just didn't inspire any confidence in their roadholding or manners.

I'm happy to settle these days for my 300Dturbo at 80 on cruise ...

The Supra I could only get to about 75 due to traffic reasons, but it got there FAST! The NSX we hit 100 mph (in a 45 zone) and the Ferrari we got up to about 100 also. The problem is theres not much room to stretch their legs in Chicagoland.
