yes it will, they will pay your lender (and you if you have + equity in it) directly.
if appraised for less then what you owe that will be negative equity(which you'll have to pay) and you should reconsider selling it prematurely. better to pay and actually use the car then walk away scot free.
but definitely don't go back to your original dealer, and don't do 6 year lease etc. good advice was given here so learn from it.
