The engine is toast. Here is a more detailed explanation:
Those Saturn engines are subject to bad head gaskets which will give off a blueish white smoke but it dissipates fairly quick. More than likely this is the problem.
so dont even bother fixing it,just go get a new vehicle then is best bet? will i be able to use that as a trade?
I would get another vehicle. That car is worth about $1,500 and putting in a new engine would cost more than that. As far as using it as a trade, you could try putting in 2 quarts of lucas oil stabilizer as it might (temporarily) get rid of the smoke, but at the very least it will greatly reduce the smoke.

Sell daughter into slavery to the middle east or east asia, buy new car with proceeds.
2 birds with one stone.
Seriously, the kid needs to bear some consequences, for a change.
Actually do check for a blown head gasket, if the car runs OK otherwise it may be worthwhile to do the head gasket and keep running it.
I would agree with the looking for another car thought as an engine is not economically viable. You would also likely have other failures sooner, rather than later, just given the age/mileage. The car is at the threshold of becoming a money pit, when paying a mechanic's hourly rates. See what you are offered in trade on it before proceeding with expensive engine repairs/replacement.
