It is the Chinese mindset to sell a product, then provide NO customer support, service, or documentation after the sale.

That is not going to fly with things which require service, parts, and factory technical support - recalls!

Agree 100%. One of my neighbors bought a Chinese made generator last week during the storm here in the northeast. I couldn't believe what a piece of junk it was. I made him return it and lent him my old gas one.

In my industry, a Chinese only entity results in poorer quality. If there is American/Western Management and QC the quality is better. The tolerable brands are the ones that set up their own factories in China and vertically integrate. Cheating is accepted and common place in Chinese business practices and this will show up in product quality, especially if you are using strictly Chinese contract producers.

I'll buy a Chinese vehicle without thinking twice if they offered good quality and met my needs/wants.

I have no doubt that they are able to do it. The question is whether the bean counters will allow them to.

I'll buy a Chinese car when I can see myself say "It's quality stuff, made in China." w/o bursting out laughing.
I have this doubt with most Eastern European countries as well, not just China.

You kidding? The bean counters would be the first ones proposing to have all the work done in China. How do you think all the work migrated over there in the first place?
