Sometimes I need the acceleration and I kind of floor it, but it goes to about 4500rpm and I feel like I'm destroying the car..

Is it bad to floor and WOT the car every once in a while?

I'm sure most will say it does no harm, but I really don't like to floor mine. I can pass people fairly easily with just 3/4 throttle.

Some folks like to "blow them out" or do an "Italian tune up", every once in awhile.

Not if it's a healthy engine, or your redline is 4400 rpm. Most would say it's good to "blow the cobwebs out" now and then.

I would usually floor my Mustang about once a day or so, running it to redline through the first couple of gears getting on the freeway. The motor lasted over 306,000 miles with regular maintenance before it finally blew. I figured it was designed for higher performance and it sure did last a long time. Now something like a basic 4 cyl, I don't know. I'm sure it would not hurt it every once in a while, but probably not good to do it real often.

I've always redlined my cars in an at least the first couple of gears more often than I short shift.

... Never had any issues, they're built to do it.

I do wonder if I should redline my newer car occasionally since its GDi and more prone to carbon buildup.

8k redline whats that a rotary engine?!

Within the redline, from 0 to 8000 RPM, you have a powerband, which is the RPM range at which your car produces the most power. You can research some dyno maps and find out your powerband if you cant just tell yourself.

Example: my cars redline is at 6200RPM...My powerband is from 3000 RPM to just over 5000 RPM. So to get optimal power and gear shift, its pointless for me to rev past that 5000 mark, I have done it before though but its just not necessary.

Theres nothing really wrong with flooring it. In fact I floor it every time I get on the highway, because its legal to do so and I need to get speed as fast as possible.

No. It has 8000rpm fuel cutoff, but redline is about 6600rpm

And peak torque at 2400rpm and peak power at 6000rpm

Since its light kerb weight, the car gets up n goes with light revs, never needs more then 2500rpm in most situations.
