I purchased a 2013 Honda CR-V from dealership in Colorado on May 4'th (Sat). I went to the dealership to test drive the car and ended up buying one on the same day. After I reached home, I realized I had over-payed for the car and the vehicle was not very much for my liking. The dealership has a 3-day money-back guarantee for full refund. It is a contract that is signed by their sales manager and myself at the time of purchase. Realizing I was within return policy terms and conditions, I took the car to the dealership on May 6'th (Monday) to return the vehicle. They would not take it back. Their sales manager would not even talk to me. He sent one of his associates who just said he cannot take it back ... sorry.

I felt helpless and cursed myself for not doing my home work before stepping into the dealership. The dealership would not return any calls and it's not impossible to talk to them anymore. It seems like the moment the car is sold and the person is out, they are less concerned. Now it's past 3 day return period. I'm not driving the car but parked in a closed garage hoping I can still return the car.

I paid my down payment of 4K on my credit card. Today (May 8'th), I put a dispute on my down payment.

What are my options at this point to return my car to the dealership?

Thank you

Once the sale has been made all that friendly salesmanship goes out the window. They are not returning your calls on purpose.

I thought about getting legal help. But that's going to cost me dearly and opted out.

What happens now that I have disputed credit charges?

I think you're effed...sorry.

If the dispute goes through the car company can come get your car from you and wreak havoc on your credit score.

I am not a lawyer, but it doesn't look good... You are now beyond the contracted return period with likely no proof that you tried to return it within said period. Even if you had proof it would have likely not been of much help. That would have been your only hope. Their tactic was to evade you until beyond the period and it worked.

I do not know the impact that the disputed charge will bring about, they may repo the vehicle and then report the matter to creditors... it could backfire, be careful.

If I were you I would be very concerned that your credit is going to take a major nose dive.

I wish you good luck, but it sounds like you are sour out of luck. These new CR-Vs are garbage and I can't blame you for wanting to return it. They just don't make them like they used too.

If you had an in writing 3 day return policy and you were within the policy, you should've never left the dealership when you went to return the car.

At this point a lawyer is your best bet
