You hit the nail squarely on the head. I finally broke down and bought an F150 Platinum FX4 with every option known to mankind. Love it! It's my 4th pickup and by far the best. It's also the only one in the garage the wife will ride in. Those retractable running boards are several inches lower than the fixed boards and really help us old folks with bad hips and knees get in and out real easy....... 62!

You want something very specific there. But I bet there are some Frontiers/Tacos that come close to that laundry list.

I mean there are really only three real midsizers out there (Ridgeline notwithstanding), which I agree sucks as I like mid size trucks and own one.

I am actually pretty conflicted about what I am going to do when my aging truck quits because nothing in the market jumps at me and my garage is too small for a full size.

Nobody buys those mid size trucks anymore. Why would a manufacturer make something that won't sell?

Nobody? Funny, I see plenty of new midsize trucks around. Plenty being a relative term, of course. But I live in a truck-loving region.

The newer Canyons, Colorados and Tacos are more like 7/8 size than mid-size. My S-10 and B2000 were mid-size.

I agree. Ever the upsizing push, with no compact trucks at all.

We need some real trucks again like the S10 size reg cabs. I hate all these ugly full size tanks.

No we don’t why do you think they stopped making them in the first place, besides a small s-10 was not a real pickup it was a toy truck, people want full size or the new ranger size not a hot wheels truck. If the smaller S-10 and the older Ranger pickups were selling than GM and Ford would still be making them but they were not selling, you they can’t do what a full size pickup can do. GM and Ford will not keep making vehicles to please a small majority of people there is no profit in it for them.

VW has a mid size that they keep talking about bringing to the US. I suspect they'll do it when the market becomes more responsive. Younger buyers are looking more towards that size truck for urban living.
