I went to the bmwusa site and could build out a 328d with a manual trans.
Saw that there is an A6 diesel available now too.

I have a Golf GTI. Awesome car, great gas mileage, fun to drive and I can fit my 55 lbs dog in the trunk/hatchbag, plus 1 bike into the car, plus both of my parents, plus a big bag, 2 bikes on the roof rack. VERY EFFICIENT!
Or like last week, I bought 23 wood panels for my new fence and fit them all in my car. They were more than 6ft tall.

My bad... you just get so used to seeing rims and spoilers on teenage Toyota Camrys and Celicas that it's hard to tell sometimes.
I consider my Charger quite sporty... more so than any of the compacts Mazda3, FRS/BRZ, and Golf mentioned in this thread. I guess I'm just partial to a full size vehicle. There is no visual difference in a V6 or V8 other than a lame looking spoiler and a few decals. I chose the cheaper price, insurance and gas money over the life of the car.
To each their own. Next time I'm looking for a "sporty" car I'll definitely head over to the Honda dealership and test drive an Accord.

Zero to 100 mph: 13.8 sec
Zero to 120 mph: 20.9 sec
Rolling start, 5–60 mph: 5.9 sec

Ouch, well, the Accord certainly has the Charger beat... So yeah, maybe you should look at an Accord.
Indeed, but I don't think anyone will accuse a Dodge Charger of being deft around the corners.
Also, those reports include skidpad tests - which the Accord of course did better in.
The Honda gets better mileage and accelerates faster. I think that's a pretty good indicator of overall engineering acumen.

Everything else such as skidpad texts and 0-60 times didn't influence my purchase at all and quite frankly I think the Charger (and Challenger for that matter) look 1000 times better than any Honda, Mazda, Kia, or VW.
The only reason I didn't get a Challenger was because I wanted 4 door instead of 2. But I know, the V6 Challengers aren't sporty either.

That's fine, but also subjective. As such, I will recommend to the OP the car that gets better mileage, is faster, and handles better.

Be fair, if you test the HI-PO Honda then atleast use the HI-PO Charger!
I don't think your Honda will be able to keep up with 470 HP Hemi!
