My brother also has a very nice Mazdaspeed Miata which I think is a 2005.

A roadster is understood to be a 2 seater convertible, roll up windows or not. One can jump up and down about official definitions but point to a car like this one, our 380SL

every knows this as a roadster. And wheeling this around on a sunny day is one of life's great pleasures. The great blue bowl of the sky unfolds above you, the open road beckons and the warm wind wafts around you. Fantastic!

To me, roadster is another name for a convertible. Speedster is different; it's topless, open cabin, two- or single-seater, no window, and with an optional windscreen. A speedster leans more toward lightweight, spartan, street legal race car maybe driven in the dry only. An Ariel Atom fits this description. A convertible Nissan 350Z is given "roadster" as an official name. However, a convertible Porsche 356 is called a Speedster. On top of all these, add the nomenclature "Spyder".
