I bought my first Roadster back in February and I love it. I looked at just about every roadster going back to 2000 and decided on a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire. Here's a couple pics of mine, now lets see yours.
In my youth a Roadster was nothing like you are showing...
True, a roadster is a specific bodystyle, and a subset of the convertible category. A roadster is a convertible 2 door without roll up side windows. If it has roll up side windows, it's a cabriolet (or just convertible). If it had 4 doors, it was a Phaeton or Touring. The last true Roadster in the US was the first gen Viper R/T10.
The cars pictured are convertibles, but not roadsters.
Often cars were available with both roadster AND convertible forms.

I grew up in the 60's/70's and they did not have all the stuff they do today.... You had a convertible.... You had an old car fixed up that was a roadster (ie 30's/40's cars hot rodded).... VW had a cabriolet...You had muscle cars, etc, etc......
While you are correct in the historical sense, in the 21st century the term roadster is used universally to describe two seat convertibles. Right or wrong most manufacturers list their two seat convertibles as roadsters.
I just want to see other enthusiast roadsters (old) or two seat convertibles (modern).
The first car I ever saved my money to buy was the Triumph TR-6 way back in 1973. I never could quite save enough to buy one though because at the time I wanted my very first car to be brand new. I ended up with a new 1974 Pontiac Firebird (which I loved by the way) because at the time they were about half the price of a new TR-6. Forty years later I reached a point where I could finally get that two seat convertible that I wanted from the very beginning.
