You can't really count that as normal resale values. A car with 3K miles on it can't lose much value simply because there isn't much wear and tear. All of those were very low mileage.
Exactly. We should be comparing a 5 year old Taurus vs a 5 year old Camry. And we all know how that comparison will turn out.
We leased a 2002 Accord new for our daughter. After the lease was done we purchased the car from Honda and gave her our Mazda. After a while, the automatic transmission in the Honda started making odd noises and not shifting right, so I took to a local dealer. The service manager called me with the bad news that the trans was shot. But she also said that Honda was going to replace the trans because it should not have worn out so soon. The warrenty was 3yr/36k miles. The car was 2 years past (2007) and had 80k miles, was lowered(only about 1") and had 18" rims. I have never heard of a manufacturer doing this. Has anyone else had this experience from any manufacturer?
