That is what happens. When I am making the turn to pass a vehicle on the highway the cruise control shuts off. Someone asked if I used the directional light when it shut off. Yes, but I don't know what that would have to do with it. Anyone else have such a problem?

The wire to the cruise control may be chafing. So when you use the turn signal it cancels the CC. Is the CC on the same stalk as the turn signal? Some cars have a button on the steering where or dash

Telling us the vehicle would be helpful. If you have a newer vehicle with adaptive cruise control and lane change assist/warning, if you switch lanes the cruise control shuts off. That's what happens in my mother's Mercedes unless you change the settings for it.

On my vehicles it stays on you can accelerate and when you let off it just slows again back to the set speed

The CC on my '95 F150 disengaged if I used the turn signal. I don't remember which (left or right) caused it, but it was only one direction. It stopped when I had the CC harness rerouted under recall, although that shouldn't have made any difference.
