I imagine it will be priced comparable to a ZL-1 or GT500.
Just a guesstimate that I pulled out of the air based on what I've read. Then there's the inevitable "market adjustment" BS. I would be surprised if list price was under 70.
I want one... still trying to decide if an eternity in hell is worth driving one for the next 10 years or so.
I realize that you are joking, but there are people who think like that - that wouldn't buy the car because of that name, or would want the badge removed.
At that price point just bite the bullet and get a viper!
the viper is a terrible car to daily drive esp. in stop in Go traffic or Rush hour where the car has a tendency for the interior to get so hot that even the A/C on full with the windows down is unable to get it comfortable they lack the storage space of Corvettes and a Challenger would be useful to daily driver and hold 4 people in relative comfort and has massive trunk to load up when shopping at the supermarket or hardware store or four sets of Gold Clubs.
Plus it being Supercharged means and having a 6-speed and 8-speed transmission you can cruise in 6 gear OD on the manual or 8th gear OD on the auto and due it would have have such a broad torque curve and power band from the large displacement V-8 it will idle along and get some really impressive fuel economy numbers.
But once you hit the the gas pedal it will jump to life from docile quite type of car that turns into a beat of a car the Mustang Cobra Terminator and GT500, MkIV Supra and ZL1 Camaro, and ZR1 corvette are then same way.
Wonder how heavy this thing will be. The Challenger was easily the heaviest of the big 3 in N/A configuration. With the added S/C, 20" wheels, big brakes and such I bet its put on a few pounds.
The Challenger is the one retro car Chrysler got right. The Charger is not very cool but when I first saw the Challenger I knew they had a winner. This one should appeal to a very select audience and the price, while high, isn't out of line for what it is.
I wonder what happened to the Cuda project? I read a couple of years ago they had a Cuda on the design table that would come only in black, have the the most powerful Hemi with only a 6 speed. No AC or Cruise or even a radio but a roll bar standard. It was just going to be a hard core drag race throw back car. Imagine the collectors lining up for that one.
Looks good.. I couldn't watch the vid (technical issues), are they gonna have one in General Lee orange (?)
