I rather this for drunk driving before texting and driving.
And given how over burdened the jails are already, i do not see the point in this.
Also, way extreme in my opinion, especially given the nature of proof required in many circumstances, and cops have proven again and again they are hardly the most trust worthy people in society. Punishment should fit the crime, and right now, there are numerous traffic offenses (let alone other crimes) much worse than this that do not result in jail time.
i say thirty days for a first offense, 6 months for a second, one year for a third + revocation of a persons license for 6 months to be served consecutively. and there should be a heavy fine as well, $500 for the first offense, $2500 for a second offense, and $10,000 for a third offense.
