My van (04 chevy venture) really did come out of no where but thats another story.
Anyway, so we had a flat and had the dummy on. It started literally bouncing over 35mph! So we stopped driving it. I went out today and got a tire plug. Im NOT a car expert.
For the first time, I changed the tire and put in a tire plug.
When I went to take the tire off i noticed red-ish fluid right behind the tire. No where else. So I looked at everything under there and theres a part to the left of the tire (back passenger side) that looks like it would move up and down and thats where the fluid was wet from (near the bottom where it meets behind the tire). Nothing appears cracked or broken.
Put air in the tire and drove around the block and up the road- no more bouncing!!
Again NOT a car expert but whats going on with the fluid?
PS- i do have a mechanic friend and a mechanically inclined brother but with hubby unemployed I need something free/cheap just for now. Im all about a junk yard or craigslist for any parts though!!!!

It is a very bad idea to buy used suspension parts. Especially shocks. It is a matter of safety to yourself and more importantly other drivers who have to share the road with you.
My only question is, why isn't your unemployed husband doing this work instead of you and your dad?
Because my husband doesnt know anything about cars and my dad has changed struts before.
