Leave it synthetic, and change it every 7,500 to 8,000 miles.

Both are official Ford sites.

At least you're correct in the second half of your post.

Another thing to consider is the difference between normal and "severe" usage according to the manual. Unless you drive nearly all highway you're likely in the "severe usage" category.

I change my wife and my cars' oil at 5K miles. Change my tranny's gear oil every 50K. Tranny rows through gears smooth as butter, and the last time I had my valve cover off the engine looked pretty good. That was at 150K.

Exactly !! And that's why I Change Oil, and filter at 3000 miles, to protect a top quality running Lincoln 4.6 Litre engine with 116,000 miles on it.

I don't need advice from ANYONE here....I KNOW my mechanic is a World Class authority on my vehicle and it's Service.

The oil life monitors are pretty good though. If you drive 5000 miles a month the oil will last a lot longer than if you drive 1 mile each way to work and back every day. The length of time that the oil can be used depends on factors unique to the use case. Nobody here can tell you exactly...
