I believe under $5,000 worth of damage means no disclosure required.

My geico agent didn't have the specifics on what kind of damage it was, could I make any kind of case against the dealership or the other insurance company who failed to put it on the carfax?

Insurance companies are not obligated to report small claims, and the dealership can only know what's a part of the record.

since this accident happened in 2012 it should have been on the Carfax
first off there are very few body men these days that can repair a vehicle without there being some tell tale signs of there being a repair done. a small wrinkle in the body, a small wrinkle in the frame, etc. bolts that have indications of a wrench being on them after they left the factory. there is always something.

as for the carfax report, they can only report the information they get.

If that's true.. then why mislead people? I mean the salesman straight up told me... It's clean... never been in an accident. this sucks

No need to protect the salesman who sold it to me, as he stated... " No accidents" " clean car" I guess if he didn't know.. then im the first case that this is happened too? I doubt that.

A car dealership goes by Carfax unless they certify the car or advertize accident free warranty.
If you did not buy it as a CPO from Jeep dealer, why would you expect anything else??

It is common knowledge that Carfax is just a database which cannot be trusted as 100% reliable, since many people do not report accidents and prefer to fix it themselves or at sketchy garages.

I don't get it...what is the problem if your car runs fine and you plan to keep it??

Did you run the carfax yourself? Have you seen what it says or just going by the word of the salesman ?
