Would health insurance cover you in case of an auto accident? I never heard that.

Of course they will. And of course your health insurance will attempt to subrogate and collect from the other driver's insurance/the other driver (assuming the other driver has anything worth going after.)

Now, if you hit a tree and have full auto coverage, your auto insurance will kick in and pay first. But, if you're on a bike, or a passenger and get hit by or in an uninsured/underinsured car, etc, your health insurance will pay.

Those Uber drivers suck. They are slow as hell on the roads and always left lane hogs. These are people who are not pros doing the driving.

Imagine if Uber did hair cutting, do we want any Joe Blow to cut your hair?

What a dumb comparison. Hair cutting is a job skill. Driving isn't, at least no more than cleaning or raking leaves or digging a ditch.

I have had some horrible Uber Drivers. But then, I've had just as many awful cab drivers.

Walmart just announced that they will use Uber for local deliveries. I wonder how the insurance works for the uber delivery folks.

Uber provides $1 million liability insurance once you have your passenger. What they don't insure is the period between turning on your app and picking up a passenger, the so-called "gap". My insurer says they'll cover it for $76/year in Massachusetts. Not sure about other places.

I'm fully signed up now, and when the wife gets back from a weekend trip with the good (non-trashy) car, I'll go out and do a bit of ubering. I'm out in the 'burbs, though, so it might be slow, but we'll see.

I take uber and lyft because most cabs I have taken have been atrocious. I don't care what others think.

Well then lets put you in a F1 car and see how well you do.....I am sure you will turn a track record since driving is so easy.
